Many people consider their pet a member of the family, not just an animal. When a beloved companion animal is nearing their end-of-life, the stress of decision-making, along with the demands of caregiving, can easily become overwhelming. A Pet Death Doula or also known as a Pet End-of-Life Doula, can assist you by offering knowledge, wisdom, and insight, promoting healthy discussion and planning, and advocating for the wishes of the dying pet and their family. It is important to note that a doula does not take the place of medical or veterinarian professionals, hospice care, or professional therapists and grief counselors. The doula’s role is to help the family plan and navigate through an end-of-life transition of their pet. Amy offers doula services for families who need emotional, spiritual, informational, and physical support during their pet’s end-of-life journey. Services that are offered include reviewing end-of-life care options, energy work, assistance with planning memorials, funeral, or burial services, animal comfort recommendations, home safety measures, and grief support. The services offered are always personalized for the needs of the family. Amy’s goal is to work alongside the family to provide support in the areas where they need it the most. We would love to have our animals directly tell us their wishes when nearing the end of their life. Every decision we make about their care can become an agonizing guessing game. Amy will be there to help you gain more clarity and comfort with the end-of-life process. Services are offered virtually or in-person.
